I watched, So You Think You Can Dance on Wednesday Night. The guest performance was by a group (of three) from the Alvin Ailey Dance Company.
They were amazing! I loved it.
The way they moved
How deeply immersed they were in their characters
How they used their entire selves to express their passion for dance
The way they hit their marks
How totally professional they were
Wow! If you want to see the performance, I found it on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gie2TIkrOXY
Hope you enjoy it.
These days I am taking lessons in the Alexander Technique and in the past I have gone to a Feldenkrais Practitioner. Both of these techniques work with movement. Having gone through illness and lost movement and physical therapy and hard work to regain mobility, I really appreciate movement and just how graceful dancers can be.
I look forward to next weeks TV shows!
